After School Programs

We offer many fun and exciting after-school programs here at GFA. Each quarter we offer different activities in Art, Music, Library, and Physical Education. Some examples of activities that might be offered include: Soccer, Book Clubs, Choir, and Drawing. Activities are posted online before each quarter’s sign-up period. 

All sign-ups will be done digitally through a form emailed to parents. Parents will be notified of student placement with a flyer sent home on the Wednesday following the week of sign-ups. Please submit a separate form for each student you plan to enroll. Currently, we will enroll a maximum of 25 students in each activity unless otherwise noted. If more than 25 students sign up for an activity, students will be chosen at random through a lottery system. If an activity is offered multiple days, it will be separate sections of that activity on each day. Students cannot be in multiple sections of the same activity.

Students will meet in the gym after school in designated areas for each activity. Activities will begin at 3:10 pm and end at 4:00 pm. Students must be picked up by 4:10 pm. Students will be picked up at the back of the building. Unlike normal after school pick-up, there is no crossing guard at this time and our supervision is limited to the specials’ teachers at the back of the building. All students will exit the building from the back doors. Please make your pick-up plans accordingly.

In the after-school program, students are held to the character standards as taught at GFA. We follow a ‘three strikes and you‘re out,’ system. Inappropriate behavior warrants a ‘strike slip’ sent home with the student. If a student receives a total of three strikes, he/she is removed from all programs. Absences qualify as an ‘attendance strike.’  No slip is sent home. After three absences, the student may be removed from individual programs.

No additions will be made to program rosters once the sign-up period closes. Students wishing to join programs will need to wait until the next quarter to sign-up.
